Sometimes ad agencies actually do work that has absolutely nothing to do with getting paid in order to burnish a brand on their client roster.

Havas Worldwide Chicago ad agency falls into that category as it launches its #BikeWhileWorking campaign.

Though Havas has no bike client per se, the agency — and most particularly Associate Creative Director Scott Rench — was inspired to peddle a little harder and promote biking after noting that Chicago was recently designated the sixth-most bikeable in the nation in a new survey by Redfin.

So Rench took it upon himself to complete the #BikeDesk project — the centerpiece of which is an actual "bike desk" that Rench created. And the contraption is just what it sounds like — a office desk perched over a bicycle, which Rench intends to ride around the city as much as possible to get people's attention and encourage them to bike more.

Added Rench: "#BikeDesk is about inspiring people to slow down and find the time to be a tourist in our amazing town — whether commuting to and from work or even during their hunch hour."

Rench also wants the public to join him in promoting biking by posting photos of #BikeDesk on social media using the same hashtag designation.
