HIV/AIDS Awareness and Action Campaign
Health Communications Specialist at FAMU Health
The month-long campaign educated the students and the community of FAMU about responsible sexual behavior and promoted methods to protect themselves during sexual encounters. It also served as an open dialogue that focuses on HIV/AIDS in the African-American community. The pinnacle of success for Sexpectations was to encourage FAMU students and the African American community to get tested for HIV/AIDS. Because of our increase in HIV/AIDS outreach and education, we tested nearly 2,000 FAMU students during the 2009-2010 school year.
