Free Us (From This Place Of Hope And Fear)
How strange and bewildering is life? How often are our hopes dashed (see Obama: Mr Change) and our fears exacerbated (see any mainstream newspaper or news report). Seems to me that we live in a world full of hope and fear - on the micro and macro scales - and as Leonard Cohen says: 'Success is surviving.'
Now, I am not one to sit about waiting to be saved; not anymore anyway. Don't get me wrong if Jesus or the aliens arrive to liberate us, I won't be turning my back, but in the meantime, I'll do what I can do. Keep making stuff and sharing stuff - and seeking out stuff that inspires me - whilst trying to keep my hopes and fears at reasonable, manageable levels: or that's the plan, anyway.
