Pied means having two or more colors. In this cover the idea is to enhance that his flute is also multicolor, in the story magic of the pattern and the color of his music manages to bewitch the rats and children of Hamelin. The type is also represented with the same color pattern in order to convey that message.

Second Solution | Visual Substitution
For my second solution I decided to replace type with music elements such as pentagrams, clef and music notes these elements convey the idea of music . In addition I made simple rat shapes to communicate that the rats were all over the place, the main issue of the town.
