The journey is far more important than the destination. Sometimes, the best part of travelling, or even the simple act of getting to Point A to Point B, is what you notice along the way. To get to where we are going, we rely on common signposts and landmarks – physical beacons to assure us that we are on the right path.  But we know that the best markers are those we have dog-eared ourselves, like pages of a book well-read: a unique store name, an odd traffic sign, a misplaced building. When our gaze falls on these, we know that in time, we will get there.

GETTING THERE is a travel postcard series which was shown at the 10a Alabama Arts & Crafts Fair held in Manila, Philippines in July 2013. The Fair aims to gather the country's independent artists and artisans and showcase their work for a weekend sale. The artist's other photographs from the collection were made into bookmarks and bookplates which were personally designed and layouted by the artist herself.
