Singularity

An era in which our intelligence will become increasingly non-biological and trillions of times(exponentially) more powerful than it is today—the dawning of a new civilization that will enable us to transcend our biological limitations and amplify our creativity.

The thought of becoming aware of manipulating your surrounding has been on an exponential growth trend with the help of technology. It is getting harder to predict the happenings of the future, as information is spreading rapidly through out our timelines, so are inventions and it begins with a visual language. The inspiration came from a human, Nelly Radak who inspired my connection of art, culture and technology for Singularity. She is the face of Singularity. The most important tool in my workflow was using the pen tablet for precision. Everything was done in adobe photoshop with its vast tool sets, helping me visualize the story.
Singularity was inspired by photos of the character, Nelly. Using her photos as the base, I begun blocking in colors to capture her silhouette and kept stacking hand painted strokes of details to capture the lighting as the original photographs shot by an amazing photographer, Kreks Carter, who captures African cultural stories in personal portraits.
The idea began as a story of connecting art, culture and technology together to show the future of how information will be used to realize the nature of the human becoming. A civilization that will enable us to transcend our biological limitations and amplify our creativity to solving world problems. The color pallet was derived from the kenyan flag that symbolizes peace, love & unity. The challenge while making Singularity was the balance of detail in each piece to use simple shapes through out the visual language.
