LEGO: Rosie
an original character designed and built entirely with Lego
Rosie is an original character both designed and built entirely with Lego. My goal was to create a modern, offbeat, and whimsical robot using all the major building systems that Lego offers to their full advantage. I used "Hero Factory" (ball-and-socket connections) for the basic skeleton and outer shells, "Technic" (beams, axles, pins, etc) for structural purposes, and even a bit of "System" (bricks, tires) for the finer details.

Rosie consists of 105 pieces, has 23 points of articulation, and is about 10 inches (25 cm) in height.
Rosie is an enormous, cycloptic robot with bulbous, almost animalistic proportions.
One of the biggest challenges was designing the backside of the figure to look as complete as the front. This is where the Technic building system became essential, as it allowed me to mount connections where I needed on the back of the figure to snap on the outer shells.
Long pins are threaded all the way from the front to the back of Rosie's torso, keep otherwise wobbly parts firmly in place.
Rosie contains 23 points of articulation and can be posed any way you like. Articulation includes double-jointed shoulders and neck, abdominal crunch, and individually moveable fingers.
