Speedway Photography
Passionate about extreme sports such as motocross, mountain and downhill biking, bmx etc. Back in 2007, while at a speedway stadium in my home town Daugavpils (LATVIA), a good friend of mine suggested me to attempt taking some pictures for the website of our hometown and only Speedway Team in Latvia.
The idea seemed quite tempting, and, after shooting of the first race, the main editor of the Official team website (Lokomotive.lv) had already announced me as a photographer for a Team website. Profoundly imbued with the spirit of speedway and kept with my camera just one meter away from the scudding drivers, I hankered to catch that smart quick moment, which I thought, was the most important for the racers. I dreamt of taking that very photograph reflecting the struggle, tense, pressure, speed, mistake and, lastly, the vigorous spirit of fearless sportsmen who were going the whole hog for the sake of the victory.
Working together with a team, photographs has been used for Official Team website, Booklets, Leaflets, Posters, also on Polish Speedway website (Przegladzuzlowy.pl) and were printed in newspapers.
Many photographs also has been declared by photos of month and week.

Another try to make Sequence Photograph. Just two photographs (which were taken from quite long distance) has been used here. Hence the result isn't so impressive!
