Character Development: Sparkle

A name, and a species.

The character is supposed to be an antagonist parallel to my dog, Sparky, in the series.
The director had told me this: a chihuahua named Sparkle.

“Boulevard of Broken Dreams” had the essence of the character I was looking for- one that would contribute a good versatility to the cast of antagonists.

And with them having two scientists- an inventor and physist, an artificial component would compliment the group.

The backstory at this point:
Something with animal abuse, where she lost faith in everyone, as the line “I walk a lonely road”
As well as utilizing the typical “Demon Chihuahua” and “pampered Chihuahua” stereotypes (even though Im guilty of      dressing up my little one myself)
Initial concept stage for Sparkle

While determining titles in a short ad campaign, she was dubbed  ‘The Corrupt Code’

The antagonists’ goal to create a ‘perfect world’ through technology, believeing mechanics far surpassed human potential, would be complimented by a computer expert.

Someone who had a certain technology put into them to save them.

"Sociality core" was in the file I had written, but luckily I had forgotten what it meant. I had uninentionally set a puzzle up for myself.

Some questions I asked when developing her bio:
What is the sociality core? Where did it come from, how did the main antagonists get it?
How did he come across a dog? Why did he pity it? Did he see it, the hatred in it’s eyes?

And the name: Sociality Core.

Possibly, a collection of the minds of great computer scientists?
A collection of all their records? Conversations.

Three things came together:
Sociality Core, the antagonists, and Sparkle.
Detailed character and texture analysis.
“….As I was running only one thing crossed my mind: Survive, not matter what.
Blood was running down me as everything was chasing me- everything was my enemy.

I kept running, my lifeline fading out. Why did this happen to me?
My rage kept bursting, every time I thought it had hit its limit it just exceeded it again.

This was all unfair, you all were unfair.

Everything living.”

"My rage kept me awake, alive.
And then there was something, that I came across.
Something not entirely alive, with a wicked smile and coldness emanating from it like there was no blood inside, but then there was.

‘What are you?’”

I wrote multiple possible situations to bring Sparkle to life.

The sociality core: may it be a core that controlled the flow of certain information in the web? Or in a certain machine?

“My body is already breaking down…. Why not live my last moments ruining you?’ I thought as I stood there watching from the shadows, as all that has been done to me has hurt my body internally, I knew I couldn’t last long or I would become too weak to do anything at all.”

But if the sociality core is what gave her the intelligence, how would she be able to think like that?
Would the situation go more like this:

“I feel so weak, I feel my body- something has happened. This isn’t normal I blame those things that have harmed me and others. I can feel it, I cannot get better…  My rage builds up, I need to pent it out on something, as I sit in the shadows I cannot remain unmoving for much longer. I cannot control it.”

“I had no hopes left, but if I wanted to survive… I had to trust, for once. This thing.
I agreed to the deal. Though, it felt like making a deal with the devil himself and that….  Made me excited.
My rage could continue even stronger.

…And then everything went black.”

"However, the object was an artifact from a mysterious super computer. The only thing I could recover from it is it’s name:
Sociality Core"

With the problems solved, Sparkle existed.

...I just had to find out a way to design high-heeled shoes for a dog.
Abilities:
Sociality Core: Language Processor
Sociality Core: Virtual Reality
Sociality Core: Virus

Quotes:

“No one can be trusted.”

“I obey no one.”

“What do you do when your precious friends are no longer there?”

“Evil can only be found in a beating heart.”
