A series of illustration created for my first solo exhibition "One for Sorrow".

Venue: City Gallery, Peterborough, UK
Date: Friday 28 August – Wednesday 24 September

About the exhibition:
It’s believed that many nursery rhymes originated from real historical events and contain sinister hidden messages of protest, often aimed at royal and political figures. The rhymes were simple, easy to remember and intended to be inherited by new generations, but over time their original messages were lost and all that remains is the imagery.
This exhibition of original Illustrations from Jason Duckmanton explores the imagery conjured by these rhymes along with the hidden subtext.
