Raw Beauty
Photography based off of the work of Julia Margaret Cameron
I was inspired by an early female photographer: Julia Margaret Cameron. Her hazy images remind me of a natural beauty. Her photographs were focused on portraits, especially women. The Madonna is one theme that she studied in depth.

For my photos I asked my models to arrive without makeup or having styled their hair. I asked them to pose with a scarf (as inspired by the Madonna images). These photographs, I believe, have captured a raw and powerful beauty within the imperfections of the models and the photographs themselves.

To keep within the idea of imperfections, very little editing of these photographs have been done. None have been cropped or altered other than adjusting from color to black & white.
