A series of portraits of people in and around Boston in the place they are familiar with and spend most of their time. In most cases this is of course their own home, but sometimes it's even their workplace. In the suburbs, for example, 2 out of 10 people are busy in their gardens on Saturday afternoons, mostly mowing their lawns. For them it's hard to understand why I would want to photograph them, but because I live in an apartment myself, I am fascinated by those extensive gardens and capacious driveways. By spontaneously starting a conversation, they relate what's going on in their lives in a relative short time.
