I started to model my design after Adirondak chairs. This first sketches were crucial to my final design.

I created the main structure by laminating 2 pieces of cardboard together, alternating grain patterns to maximize strength. 

For the seat and chair back, I cut out a design in the top layer and then laminated two more sheets to the back of those to add support.
