People want to not switch tools while working with graphic design apps. So people who mainly do layouts tend to also draw small vector graphic in InDesign. This book covers InDesign's vector and graphic functions, effects, transparency, strokes, text etc. What can and what can't be done as well as directions on how to achieve the latter in Illustrator, since coopearating in the Creative Cloud is simple. I have written most of the chapters (excluding »Tables in InDesign« and »The PDF print engine«) and I have made the illustrations and photos used in my chapters. 

It's possible to draw vector graphics in InDesign :-)
