PARK(ing) DAY 2014

Our team had two weeks to design and build our installation for PARK(ing) DAY 2014, we took inspiration from the city around us and the people that live in it and designed an installation that would change as users interacted with it over the course of the day.

Our structure consisted of a wooden timber frame supported by pallet walls and flooring, and a map of dundee forming the roof with 2m legnths of rope hanging down. As users would come into the space we would measure their height and cut a piece of rope to reflect that. We would then give them a white lightbulb, which they are able to customise with a sharpie. The lightbulb is then suspended from the cut rope. By the end of the day we created a landscape of customized lightbulbs, each one representing a person living in Dundee.
