Smell is often overlooked in design due to its formless and intangible nature. Yet it works in a conscious or subliminal way that creates a lasting impression on us. Smells also trigger certain memories associated with it.
As part of a second year project at Singapore Polytechnic, we were tasked to design a scent diffuser to be placed outside, in lieu of an official opening of a Spa. The scent should function as a teaser for passer-bys to experience what is to come.
