A book cover and spread redesign for the “The Magician’s Guild” by Trudi Canavan.
The "magical" rock used on the cover symbolizes the pivotal moment when Sonea throws a rock at the invading magicians; the moment that the chase and real plot of the story begins. The cracked glass background represents the shattered shield that was protecting the magicians. The serif, classic look of the typography captures the essence of the setting in the story; it's woven together with a minimalist layout in order to give the book a more contemporary, updated look and make it more appealing to viewers.
