    This is a series of five images of my family, made in 2012. Holding the shutter cable, each one is their own photographer. Submerged in a space free of prejudices, they revealed deep-seeded emotions and feelings. We are an ordinary family, but like any other, we carry the burden of difficult memories and experiences that are rarely shown in public. In the process of creating these self-portraits, the experience is cathartic. Read Less

On the edge of the abyss: “I was so close this time… watching the train approach. I’m sick of it, Beatriz. One of these days I’ll really do it.”

She has decided to not have children: “Dad hates mom. Mom hates Dad. All they see are their faults. I have to remain neutral and try to make them see each other’s pain. Children for me though, are out of the question.”

She blames herself for our unborn brother’s death. It was she who accidentally tripped our mother on the stairs: “I was responsible for his death. If I hadn’t tripped our mother… Susie, I killed him!”.
