DAY ONE: Timed Drawing
Reasoning: An extension of an inclass task of timed drawings - designated 15 minutes

Inspiration: Inspired by Kris Trappeniers line art and the texture it he gives to his drawings, decided to put my own twist to it

Technique/Process: Artline markers, Sharpie Markers, Coloured Pencils

Reflection: I like this drawing and think I did a good job within the 15 minutes, Trappeniers style definitely influenced this drawing
DAY TWO: Time Travel
Reasoning: Represent time in an unconventional way through making a business card for a "Time Travel" business

Inspiration: I was inspired by watching the movie "Safety Not Gauranteed" which is a movie based on Time Travel.

Technique/Process: Adobe Illustrator vector designs

Reflection: I really like this idea as I thought outside the box of time, even though it might be a possibility in time to come.
DAY THREE: Ink
Reasoning: Experimenting with ink, gradually adding details over time

Inspiration:
Was inspired by ink and the way it sets on a page

Technique/Process: Started off with random strokes of ink and then gradually kept adding ink over time to represent a womens figure

Reflection: I like this because it was my first experimentation with ink and I think it turned out to show some great details
DAY FOUR: Time Icons
Reasoning: Represent time in different ways as icons for visual design

Inspiration: I was inspired by a reading called Thinking with type, and how it mentioned that icons are often considered to be a more universal form of communication

Technique/Process: Adobe Illustrator: Pen tool, Adobe Kuler used for colour pallette.

Reflection: The inclusion of the darker blue in the background allow the icons to pop, however, some of them could use some refining.
DAY FIVE: Time Heals All Wounds
Reasoning:  Represent the common saying "Time heals all wounds" in a visual way

Inspiration: I was inspired to draw a hand bleeding to represent that Time will heal the wound

Technique/Process: Watercolour, Artline Markers, Pastels

Reflection: I am a huge fan of watercolour and I think they turned out well to represent a "realistic" hand, the wound needs refining
DAY SIX: Into The Future
Reasoning: Represent time as a reference to the future. Explore a grunge type style in my work.

Inspiration: When I think of time, I think of the future. I was inspired by imagining what the future could potentially look like. I based this idea around the 1996 movie, Mars Attacks!

Technique/Process: Adobe Illustrator: Pen tool, Paintbrush tool. Drawn using pen tool, filled with colour and details finished with paintbrush tool. Gradient effect used on background.

Reflection: I really enjoy making illustrations like these as they're definitely my style. I can imagine this on a variety of mediums, especially as a T-Shirt design.
DAY SEVEN: TIMED DRAWING
Reasoning: Another timed drawing to define my drawing style

Inspiration: Physically represent time by giving myself a 15 minute time limit to draw this image

Technique/Process: Artline Markers, Sharpie Marks, Coloured Pencils

Reflection: I think my style is finally starting to come through with these drawings, definitely becoming more comfortable drawing portraits like this
DAY EIGHT: Glitched
Reasoning: Represent time through the creation of a time "glitch".

Inspiration: I was inspired by watching a scratched DVD, at many scenes the movie glitched and certain parts of their body were frozen in time.

Technique: Canon 1100D, Adobe Photoshop

Process: Converted to Black and White using Black and White Filter tool, 3 Different Layers, Quick selection tool and clone stamp tool used to glitch arm, pastel blue paintbrush with opacity of 90% added to background layer.

Reflection: I originally had the background unedited, however, I felt it took away from the arms being of focus. I decided to add a pastel blue to the background to make the arms pop. Overall, pretty happy with this photo and I like the contrast of the Black and White to the pastel blue.
DAY NINE: Time Magazine
Reasoning: Refer to time in the literal sense of Time Magazine.

Inspiration: I wanted to experiment with portraits, and found that Time Magazine regularly uses very strong portraits as their cover page. I wanted to recreate a powerful portrait that I think I would find on the cover of Time Magazine.

Technique/Process: Canon 1100D, Adobe Photoshop: Clone Stamp tool, Burn/Smudge tool, Content Aware Fill.

Reflection: I find this photograph to be very powerful and like that it almost tells a story. Im not that happy with editing on the sand dunes horizon. The original photograph had trees there and I felt as though they distracted from the photo and edited them out. Will have to learn how to deliver a more realistic edit.
DAY TEN: Irony
Reasoning: In class project - Storytelling with photography

Inspiration: 2 guys came up and spoke to a group of Translink officers, I found a huge sense of Irony with the juxtaposition of the Tony Abbott parody shirt, being infront of working government employees. There is a contrast of someone disliking the government and a group of people working for the government.

Technique/Process: Canon 400D, Adobe Photoshop: Curves tool, Levels tool, Grain Effect.

Reflection: I think this photo tells a good story of irony. Being that the two guys in the photo were skaters, I wanted to create a "Retro Californian" feel to this photo and I am pleased with the end result.
DAY ELEVEN: Waiting For A Mate
Reasoning: In class project - storytelling photography

Inspiration: I liked the contrast between the busy traffic and the man sitting alone on the park bench, shows two complete opposite emotions and shows how he is in his own world

Technique/Process: Canon 400D, Adobe Photoshop: Curves tool, Levels tool

Reflection: I like the colours in this photo, gives a very cool effect and I really like the contrast between the moving traffic and the almost sombre position of the man sitting down
DAY TWELVE: Good Times
Reasoning: Typography involving the word time

Inspiration: I was inspired by the common saying "let the good times roll" and wanted to present that in a typography setting related to my style

Technique/Process: Adobe illustrator, Multiple Fonts

Reflection: I like this sort of typography and am starting to develop my street style
DAY THIRTEEN: Routine
Reasoning: Fit in with the weeks theme of "comic strips" - make a photographic comic strip of my routine of going to uni

Inspiration: I was inspired by the thought of representing time as a type of routine, as its something I do all the time.

Technique/Process: Iphone 5s, Photoshop, Curves tool

Reflection: I like this thought of a photographic comic strip and think the curves tool made the photos stand out more
DAY FOURTEEN: RIP
Reasoning: Represent the end of time for everyone in a street style

Inspiration: I was inspired by trying to edit on the behance website and it was lagging for so long that chrome "killed" the page

Technique/Process: Adobe Illustrator, Pen Tool

Reflection: I like the style of this illustration however it does look a bit messy
DAY FIFTEEN: Comic Strip
Reasoning: In class project

Inspiration: Represent a funny story through a comic strip

Technique/Process: Hand drawn sketch, Adobe Illustrator, Image Trace, Live Paint bucket tool

Reflection: I had alot of troubles with this. I think the main problem was that because I didnt have a scanner the image trace wouldnt pick up on all the lines, making me have to redraw the sketch with thicker lines. If i want to continue this, I definitely need a scanner.
DAY SIXTEEN: Self Portrait
Reasoning: In class project experimenting with light

Inspiration: Experimenting with natural light sources and how to create interesting portraits using light

Technique/Process: Canon 550D, Adobe Photoshop, Curves Tool

Reflection: I really like the use of lighting in this photo, especially where the light hits my hair
DAY SEVENTEEN: Black and White
Reasoning: In class activity, experimenting with different lighting techniques

Inspiration: Inspired to use split lighting to create a dramatic effect

Technique/Process: Canon 550D, Adobe Photoshop, Black and White Effect

Reflection: I think the split lighting worked really good here and gave dimension to the subject
DAY EIGHTEEN: Let There Be Light
Reasoning: Find lighting at home to take interesting portraits

Inspiration: I was inspired the theme of home and wanted to experiment with lighting from something in my own home, I found that my garage had a great light source with one single fluorescent light bar. When the subject stood under this light it produced dramatic lighting

Technique/Process: Canon 550D, Adobe Photoshop, Curves Tool, Levels tool

Reflection: The lighting in my garage produced an awesome setting and gave the desired look. The lighting was almost like the butterfly lighting we learnt in the lectures and studios
DAY NINETEEN: Smells Like Good Lighting
Reasoning: Find lighting at home to take interesting portraits

Inspiration: This was an extension on the previous photo, however I asked the subject to move in different places to create more dramatic lighting

Technique/Process: Canon 550D, Adobe Photoshop, Curves Tool, Levels tool

Reflection: I really like the concept of these representing home as they were physically taken at home. This lighting was really good and im pleased with the final outcome
DAY TWENTY: Empire State Of Mind
Reasoning: Represent home as a location

Inspiration:
My mum is american and I've always had a great connection with USA. When I travelled to the U.S recently I really loved New York and I hopefully will get to call that place home sometime in the future.

Technique/Process: Canon 550D, Adobe Photoshop, Double exposure created by "screening" New York Landscape over my portrait

Reflection: I like the creation of shape and form that occurred thanks to the double exposure effect. Something about this photo makes it look peaceful
DAY TWENTY ONE: Familia
Reasoning: Represent home as friends, to show that when Im with my friends I feel at home

Inspiration: I was inspired to take this when a group of my friends were hanging out having some drinks, when im socialising with friends I feel at home and I wanted to capture the good times we always have together

Technique/Process: Canon 550D, Adobe Photoshop, Adjustment of Saturation, Brightness, and Contrast

Reflection: This image captures a happy emotion and tells a narative of good times
DAY TWENTY TWO: Lights Will Guide You Home
Reasoning: Tell a narrative of journey home on the train

Inspiration: I was inspired to take this photo because the stop was virtually dead, I thought it was a cool way to show how I get to and from home

Technique/Process: Canon 550D, Curves tool, Levels Tool, Light bleed added

Reflection: I like how the lights in this photograph journey off in a line and show a journey of their own
DAY TWENTY THREE: Familiar Sounds
Reasoning: Represent home as sound by drawing a musician who reminds me of home

Inspiration: I was inspired by listening to Mac Demarco, and thought about how much I have played his music at home that specific songs remind me of memories I have had at home

Technique/Process: Artline Markers, Sharpie Markers, Coloured pencils

Reflection: The use of random lines adds great texture to the image. I wish I re-coloured his eyes though
DAY TWENTY FOUR: Texture
Reasoning: In-class project to find different textures

Inspiration: I was inspired that the different colours and contrast each texture had

Technique/Process: Iphone 5s, Adobe Photoshop to present images

Reflection: I like how complementary the colours of each texture is when turned into a swatch like this
DAY TWENTY FIVE: Botanic Pattern
Reasoning: In class project to create a seamless pattern

Inspiration: I was inspired by the botanical drawings of fauna and wanted to create an interesting pattern with them

Technique/Process: Adobe Photoshop to edit pictures, Adobe Illustrator to create pattern

Reflection: The contrast of colours between the black and white drawings to the light blue background create an interesting pattern. However the use of proximity isn't the best
DAY TWENTY SIX: Pineapple Farm
Reasoning: Represent home through a pattern

Inspiration: In my hometown of Yeppoon, we have alot of pineapple farms, so much so that every year we have a festival called "Pine Fest" where there is a parade with floats of local businesses and the pineapple farms give out free pineapples. It's a huge event for Yeppoon and alot of markets and entertainment happen on the beach during it. I chose to create a pattern of a Pineapple because of this as it represents my hometown well

Technique/Process: Adobe Photoshop to edit photo of Pineapple, Adobe Illustrator to create pattern

Reflection: This pattern is a great representation of my hometown of Yeppoon as it reminds me alot of the memories I had going to Pine Fest as a kid
DAY TWENTY SEVEN: Homebound
Reasoning: Represent my hometown through a stamp

Inspiration: I was inspired to make a stamp that represents my hometown of Yeppoon. I went with an illustration of a seagull because Yeppoon is a coastal town and sitting on the beach you will encounter alot of Seagulls. I also wanted to make a stamp as it is an item that helps send something from one home to the other.

Technique/Process: Adobe Illustrator to Create Pattern, Pen Tool used to make seagull

Reflection: I think the concept of making a stamp to represent home is interesting because it is a common item that many people use in their own homes to send mail to another home
DAY TWENTY EIGHT: Home
Reasoning: Typography to show create a pun on a common saying

Inspiration: Being a uni student I identify with 3 things, Free Entry, Mi goreng Noodles and Goon. To me these objects represent home which is why I chose to make make a pun on the common saying "Home is where the heart is"

Technique/Process: Hand Drawn goon sack, Adobe Illustrator, Image Trace, Bebas Font

Reflection: This image is very modern and I like the blue background as it makes the font pop
DAY TWENTY NINE: Whiteboard Eraser
Reasoning: In-class activity

Inspiration: In class we were shown macro images of common items made to look unidentifiable close up. I wanted to recreate this with a macro shot of a whiteboard eraser.

Technique/Process: Canon 550d

Reflection: I think I achieved the goal to make a common item seem unidentifiable close up, as close up this image could look like dirt or dry paint. The texture of the whiteboard eraser is the hero of this photo and it makes the photo very interesting
DAY THIRTY: Paintbrush
Reasoning: In class project

Inspiration:
I wanted to create a macro photo that had alot of texture to it - the paintbrush had awesome detail and is an at home object for every artist

Technique/Process: Canon 550D

Reflection: The detail in this photo turned out really well, the shallow depth of field is to thank because of this as it allows you to focus on the paintbrush bristles
