Bite-Size Recipe Book

This project was all about making a recipe book, keeping in mind
1. the college students
2. the recipes were to be made out of ingredients that were grown within a 100 kilometre radius of Bengaluru city.

For this reason, the project started off with the tracking down the origin of the various ingredients that were easily available in the shops around the Self-Financed Colony (where we students stay). This included visiting various shops, collecting the prices of the ingredients and tracking them all down back to the city market and their farms (located outside of Bengaluru). Once, the data was collected, the creation of the recipes came next. Folowing this was the actual making of the book (which included the typography, layout, illustrations, form of the book, and the costing that was resulting from all these factors.

Another point was to keep the costing of the final recipe book as low as possible as the target audience were college students who generally live off some fixed amount per month.

For this book, I decided on Srishti house parties as the theme - which include recipes that are quick, easy, low on ingredient costing, uses less number of utensils and are still tasty! Furthermore, I decided on accordion as the form of my book so as to allow for low price (the final book came up to 50 rupees when printed on a smaller scale) and for easy use  of the book.
