Magnolia Doulas Visual Identity & Web Design
The Magnolia Doulas are Lark Craft & Trish ShermanPfeiffer who serve the countryside of Illinois. They have teamed up to offer doula services and a host of options to their expectant families. Their website works to help their clients select the care that is right for them.

The Magnolia Doulas wanted to make a classy presentation on their website while tipping their hats to the bucolic landscape in which they serve. I had a 100 year old art education book my grandfather had given me, and there was one illustration that had the feel that worked perfectly for the birth services page. The Magnolia Doulas selected flowers to represent their different packages, and so I poured through library books to find good examples of the flowers to reproduce. The theme was “vintage botanical journals,” and so I added textures, coloring,  latin flower names, and descriptions to contribute to the feel, which you can see excerpted below.

Accomplished:

Coordinated with birth photographers to obtain photography that fit the vision and values of Magnolia Doulas
Concept and implement visual language of Magnolia Doulas: Logo, colors, photo editing
Made website wireframe, mockup, and final layout & design
Performed SEO strategy with long-tail search keywords
Provided training on how to add and edit site information
Hardened website to hacks, set up security scanning, and established off-site daily backups
Set up hosting on my VPS with solid state hard drives
