All of these images were shot whilst working at the CP World Games in Nottingham for Epic Action Imagery. I was able to get creative and try out different things for this commission. I used remote triggers and cameras around the athletics track to get unique perspectives of the atheltes as they competed for gold. Without the remote triggers and camera setup some of these shots would have been impossible to get. It was an honour and pleasure to so so many contries competeing against eachother all with the spirit of the games.
All of the above shots were taken using a remote camera inside the discuss netting. There is no other way to get this shot. The only other way to get a good shot from this disciplin was to shoot it straight on with the 400mm f2.8 however the results from the remote camera were a lot better.
Shelby Williams from Scotland flew past the remote camera on her way to break a world record
This was shot with my Nikon 400mm f2.8. Using the lens allows you to get close to the action but stay out of the way, which is an essential part of shooting sport.
I placed a remote camera at the finish line of the 100 meter sprint allowing me to capture a shot of the winning athlete just as she was about to cross the finish line.
I placed a remote camera as close as I could to capture the start of the 4x100m relay, whilst this camera was being triggered I was shooting the start from a different angle using my 400mm f2.8
