The Anticithere Revival's project is a perpetual calendar that draw its inspiration from the amazing Antikythera mechanism dating back to the Greek period and wich is considered as the oldest analog computer designed to predict astronomical positions and eclipses for calendrical and astrological purposes, as well as the Olympiads, the cycles of the ancient Olympic Games.
The idea behind this project, was to create an object blending design, astro-sciences and engineering.
The calendar is a manual and mechanical artefact.
Its principal structure made of tombac is composed of two removable circles linked by a rotation's system.
When the biggest circle turn a full 360°circle (like the earth's mouvement in 24:00) the mecanisme is activated and the interior circle (wich is the one engraved with every day of the week) moves on 1/7 of its axis allowing to switch from one day to an other.
The calendar works also with its penbox composed of 12 pens engraved from 1 to 31 wich correspond of each day of a month with a color code (basicly you just have to buy a new box every new year).
The sharpener on the center's structure i used to put the pen in and carve the engraving date every new day.
This mechanism is also here to remember people that each new day is ephemeral and unic according to the scientific's postulate stressing the impossibility to get back in the past.

Ainsi la structure principale de laiton est composée de deux cercles amovibles reliés par un mécanisme rotatif.
Lorsque le cercle extérieur effectue un 360° (soit la rotation effectuée par la terre sur elle même en 24h00), le cercle intérieur marqué des jours de la semaine effectue un mouvement d’1/7 de son axe permettant donc de passer d’un jour à l’autre à chaque nouvelle date.
Le calendrier fonctionne également avec une boite de 12 crayons gravés de 1 à 31 correspondant aux mois et date de l’année avec un code couleur au choix de l’utilisateur (il faut donc simplement renouveler la boîte de crayon chaque année).
Au centre de la structure, un taille crayon permettant d’insérer chaque mois un nouveau crayon dans de le tailler chaque jour, effaçant les dates de ce dernier.
