King Gardens Re-brand

For this project I was asked by a friends older brother to re-brand his gardening company. The tasks I was required to do were to mainly make a brand new logo and a business card. With the colour scheme being black and gold. To get a better image of the business I researched the website thoroughly and gather as much information I could.

King Gardens is a local business in the town of Rugby which specialises in gardening, with the tag being 'Arborist and Tree Surgeons'.

The services the offer, but are not limited to:
Landscaping
Grass Cutting
Shrub Shaping
Tree Surgery
Green Waste Removal
Fire Wood & Logs

From these main factors, I made sure to make all my designs related to the services of King Gardens.

I started by making the logo.
I decided to make 3 designs to give my client a variety of options, rather than just one.
The design which appealed most to my client was my third design with a crown cut out of a golden leaf, as seen below.

After deciding on which design my client admired the most, I developed the design to my clients needs. The third being the preferred design.
Below is the final design of the logo. The only changes I made was the colour of the rib and veins of the leaf. With a golden streak below the logo and the tagline of the company.

After the client was highly satisfied of the logo I began to design the business card. The main elements I wanted to focus on were the colours, shapes, and space. Because the business card is such a small size I made sure not to over complicate the design by trying to make it as simple and as effective as I could. For the front side I centred the logo in front of a dark grey rectangle which was surrounded by a colourful bush. In addition, I added a dark green triangle to the top left to make the colour of the semi bright bush stand out.
For the back of the card I divided the page in two colours; grey being on the left, and white being on the right.
On the left side I included the crucial details such as the phone number, the email address, and the company address. However, on the left I listed the services which King Garden offers, to let people know more about it.
After finishing all the work for King Gardens I never received a reply from my client which is a big shame, but I enjoyed the experience of making a real life product for a real business despite of it not being used, and look forward to doing more designs for other businesses.
