Personal Project: Illustration for Everyday Adventurer
This illustration is part of my endevour to develop my personal brand for the blog "An everyday adventurer's journey" where I speak about my experiences as a young designer and my wish to lift up people to follow their creative dreams.

I found it incredibly hard to find something that sums me up as a creative. After several drafts and failed attempts to define myself, there was a flash of inspiration at some point of frustration. Are frustration and inspiration close friends? In this case it showed me that the one thing that represents me the most is my backpack. I had it since high school and I took it on all my travels around Europe, Asia and America. If objects can become part of you (to some extent) then this is the one thing, that can represent me. I'm flexible & practical, I move, I can't stand being in one place for too long. I long for new input and I love adventures.

Is this a finished project? Jein (Ja & Nein [yes & no], as I would say in German). Because I do develop and change, but I'll always be this creative adventurer trying to move this world a little bit in my life time. So we'll see. If you want to be part of this journey, as a creative professional to guide and give feedback, or as a person who just loves beauty ... you are very welcome to follow me on http://romicagawon.wordpress.com
Tools of choice (I'm a Staedtler fan and couldn't be conviced otherwise yet)
Sketchbook Page (from top left to bottom right): 1st sketch of backback reference material (which I didn't like), 2nd sketch of my own backpack & items that might work, 3nd sketch with more detail
Outlines created with the Staedtler pigment liner 0.3 after substracting the outlines in photoshop and vectorising them for illustrator.
Finished Vector Illustration.
