Based in Cebu, Philippines, Pacific Traders Manufacturing Company (PTMC) began in 1973 primarily in Rattan Furniture design and manufacturing. Today, PTMC has a diverse product line from the formal classic designs to the casual contemporary styles. Its 589,000 square foot plant and workforce of more than 1,600 ensures adequate capacity and timely delivery of products to its clients such as B&B Italia, Ralph Lauren and Bloomingdales. PTMC also has a strong client base of International Interior and Furniture design companies working for Global and Regional Hotel and Hospitality Groups.
PTMC aimed to capitalize on the growing hospitality sector by being the agent of choice for Interior & Furniture Design agencies as well as hotel groups.

Challenge
By working directly with the end user this new venture would come into direct competition with existing agents that used PTMC for their own clients manufacturing projects.
Not wanting to leverage off the well-established parent company of PTMC, this new venture had to appeal to a western inspired design community and high-end Hospitality market, most of which would not directly want to be seen using a Philippine based company.

Solution
With the Middle East operation strategically located within Dubai, and their design and manufacturing facilities based in the Philippians, Pacific Traders needed a new company name and brand that would appeal to a Interior designers, Architects and procurement departments of well establish hospitality brands.
JPd was engaged to develop the Brand Strategy, Naming and design the Brand Identity for this new company.
Spanish heritage is ingrained into the Philippians so it was fitting to name the new company ‘ARTE VIVO’, meaning ‘Living Art’ in Spanish. Mixing modern and traditional typography helped reflect the mix of modern and classical furniture that would be designed and crafted. With a sophisticated colour palette and contemporary grid system the new look & feel aimed at the heart of the highbrow agency and brand name hotel.
JPd developed all the communication touch-points from Stationery to Advertising, brochure catalogues to social media styling as well as developing the final Brand Guidelines.
