Every year in Mexico tons of ancient traditional techniques are lost due to the unreasonable profits left for the producers. VIA RAIZ is a brand that promotes mexican contemporary design, supports classic craftsmanship and offers original pieces in their website (www.viaraiz.com) and in a fixed place in Portland, Oregon. When it came to the development of the naming of VIA RAIZ we wanted to appeal to the universal idea of origin. In this manner, the challenge was to reinterpret the concept of the different techniques of mexican crafts, searching for a brand that that highlights the cultural essence of the pieces instead of overshadowing them.
The identity system heads off by the concept of the origin of culture, making the artisanal techniques the protagonists of the brand as a whole. Each symbol we create represents distinctive endemic artisanal techniques of Mexico, creating a mosaic of cultural heritage in the current design context. We firmly believe in a project that transcends borders and takes the mexican culture to a global market.

ARTESANÍAS MEXICANAS
Cada año técnicas tradicionales milenarias se pierden porque no representan un sustento para los artesanos. VÍA RAÍZ es una marca que promueve diseño mexicano contemporáneo sustentado en la artesanía clásica, ofreciendo piezas originales en su tienda online (www.viaraiz.com) y un espacio fijo en Portland, Oregon.
Desarrollamos el nombre VÍA RAÍZ, apelando a una idea universal del origen, empatando con los objetivos de la marca. De la misma forma, el reto fue reinterpretar el concepto de la técnica de la artesanía mexicana, buscando una marca que exaltara la esencia cultural de las piezas en lugar de opacarla.
El sistema de identidad parte del concepto de origen cultural, teniendo las técnicas artesanales como protagonista de toda la marca. Cada símbolo que creamos representa distintas técnicas artesanales endémicas de México, creando así un mosaico de herencia cultural en un contexto de diseño actual.
Apostamos por un proyecto que trasciende fronteras y lleva la cultura mexicana a un mercado global.
