As Cardiff Metropolitan University is involved in the provision of humanitarian aid in Uganda, help was needed with a project, which aimed to reduce malaria levels in two small villages in the country. They needed a designer to create a pictorial guide to support the written guidance offered to the villagers and would include the steps that should be followed to protect oneself from malaria. It was underlined that the guide should be simple, easily understandable, without the use of the additional text(which will be written on the writing lines under the illustrations), and cheap and easy to print. This is why it was created in black and white and in the format of a 3-fold A4. It was designed under the concept of a furniture construction guide, following the need for simplicity and comprehensibility.
