Site Re-Design & Optimization: Edu Startup

 done
This site redesign was for an educational startup that produces math apps for grade school kids. The old site did not provide a quickly understandable value proposition, nor did it show the product or focus on selling their goods.

I created the new design, wrote new copy, and coded the site as html5 pages in Twitter Bootstrap so they now have a responsive site that improves their mobile experience, and loads super fast.

My aim was to provide three things 'above the fold': (a) an immediate, clear, value proposition; (b) a product shot ; and (c) a fun, energetic, and engaging persona.
Below is the original site Home page.  It's not immediately clear what you're getting, nor can you easily navigate to see or buy the product (believe it or not, they did not have product shots on the App pages, either).
On the Home page, immediately below the fold I have product shots and descriptions. The 'Read More' buttons take the viewer to the "Buying Guide" page, which has more product details.
I added in positioning and product differentiation copy, which adds to the overall company value propositions. And added a company product guarantee to show the company's confidence, and reduce perceived risk to nervous buyers.
We added in a modern Buying Guide, below which has tabs (2nd screenshot) that include detailed product descriptions. The goal was to increase sales through product bundling, discounts, and ideally would also increase customer lifetime value numbers.
Below are a couple screenshots of the original product pages: no imagery of the products, and no "buy" buttons.
With our new "About Us" page I wanted to emphasize the experience and credentials of the Chief Creative Officer, Bruce Howlett, without whom there would be no company nor products.
Outside of the Chief Creative Officer, the goal was 'short and sweet'.
Last but not least was the fact that the new site was built using Twitter Bootstrap and mobile-ready. Below are some of the other pages (contact us, privacy policy, company history, etc.) not shown above that would be too much unnecessary detail to include.
