My stain-on-wood portraits are an attempt to capture a feeling of nostalgia. By showcasing the natural grain of the wood, as an artistic feature, each piece embodies its own individual organic look. Each subject is painted in stain, with dramatic contrast between darks and lights, again highlighting the woodgrain as a feature texture.
