RSA Competition 2016 - The Poor Diet

RSA Competition Brief 2015
THE BRIEF
Poor diets are a major issue affecting young people across UK with millions of people eating over the recommended daily amounts of sugar, saturated fat, salt and calories and not enough portions of fruit and vegetables. Eating poorly and being overweight as a young person predisposes people to numerous health problems including diabetes, cardiovascular disease and mental health disorders.

THE CONCEPT
Most of the children in poor diet are majorly influenced by advertisement and about half of them will think that a food advertisement is usually a fast food advertisement. Therefore, using the healthy fast food concept can actually start to solve the problem slowly.

Parents educating their children about a healthy diet is limited as they are busy working. In order to increase the children's knowledge about healthy diet, a healthy fast food in a school canteen is perfect as they can not only learn from the teachers but also from the environment of the canteen itself.

THE DESIGN
The objectives is to educate the students on the benefits of a healthy diet by incorporating a fast food style cafeteria that serves healthy foods called BreakTime. The unique selling point of BreakTime is that it influences children into choosing healthy foods through the use of their favorite superheroes.
