IN Birmingham Tourism Campaign
This campaign for Birmingham tourism was designed to be embraced by local residents as well as by potential visitors – a campaign to essentially rebrand Birmingham from the inside out in an effort to change the way Birmingham sees itself and, inevitably, the way visitors view the city.

Birmingham’s citizens were asked to nominate their favorite spots, unique to the city. The results were then compiled in a travel guide, giving the local community ownership in the campaign and giving visitors a true taste of Birmingham culture.

Input cards were distributed citywide asking people to share their favorite spots and what makes them so unique to Birmingham.
Boxes were placed in high traffic areas to collect the IN cards. Large 10'x10' boxes were placed at events and festivals, and smaller ones in retail spaces and restaurants throughout the city.
Submissions were also taken online at a campaign microsite.

With the input gathered from the cards and on the website, a pocket guide of the best spots in the city was produced.
A digital version of the IN guide was also made available online.
To identify the spots featured in the guide, window clings were distributed to the selected establishments to be placed on their door.
