Reunion Fundraising at St. Lawrence University

Industry-recognized financial advisor Keefe Gorman currently serves as a managing director with Merrill Lynch in New York. Outside of his work at Merrill Lynch, Keefe Gorman remains active in a number of community organizations, including the Major Gifts Committee for his alma mater, St. Lawrence University.

Among its various fundraising efforts, St. Lawrence’s Reunion Fundraising campaign allows alumni to revisit St. Lawrence while helping to ensure that the St. Lawrence experience continues to be meaningful and exceptional for future generations. Alumni “come back and give back” as they enjoy a weekend of class receptions, campus tours, alumni seminars, dinners, and the customary all-class parade. In preparation for the Reunion, alumni are encouraged to contribute to their Reunion Class Gift.

According to St. Lawrence, gifts of all sizes make a significant impact, with gifts in the $25 to $50 range totaling more than $100,000 for the university in 2014. The school explains that all donations made during an individual’s Reunion year are credited to the Reunion Class gift, and alumni can maximize the effect of their contributions by participating in the Multi-Year Pledge Program. By pledging to donate for five years, alumni can help their class earn special credit and save the university money on yearly fundraising expenses. Gifts to St. Lawrence support a wide range of school operations, such as financial aid, study-abroad programs, and student-faculty research.
