The new constructed sequence demarcating the approach and departure process at Tampa General Hospital will provide the hospital with an opportunity to transform the functionality of the building elements into an identifiable, hospitable, and environmentally appropriate response that creates a unique identity to the visiting hospital guests.  Through a thoughtful conception of a standard “kit-of-parts,” an opportunity to transform standard building elements through translating the the much sought after qualities of the Florida landscape into constructed visual imagery that blends the natural landscape into built form that create a brandable aesthetic unique to Tampa General.  Augmented through the careful articulation and use of light, addition of natural landscape elements, and controlled use of color, a simplistic building system may be transformed into an unexpected, inviting spectacle colliding art with function.
