Reducing violence and aggression in A&E

Reducing violence and aggression in A&E

Here is another project I was involved in during my time working at Atelier Works.

For the Reducing violence and aggression in A&E programme the Design Council worked in partnership with the Department of Health and the NHS to co-ordinate a team of experts, including a consortium of organisational consultants, user-centred researchers and emergency care specialists, who collaborated to identify opportunities for design-led solutions to tackle specific frontline staff issues.
The main thought is that design can help reduce both the financial and human cost of the thousands of violent and aggressive acts that occur in A&E departments each year.

To present the project we were in charge of setting up an exhibition to showcase the campaign's achievements. For this issue we created a publication with a summary of the process and results of this programme which was distributed at the opening of the exhibition.
For the exhibition we created panels for the "gondolas"(different wood structures that contained all the information), animations with some summarized concepts, vinyl circles in the floor to guide the people around the exhibition, shelf panels, window vinyl, hanging panels, backdrop for the podium, merchandising, press kit, invitations, etc.
