This was - i believe - a 1 day assignment at the Danish School of Media & Journalism. The brief was simple: Come up with an idea for a fictive company or organisation and design a logo and then animate it.

 

The organisation
The idea I had was for an organisation for writers and poets, called Writer's Guild. 

 

You can look at the logo in two different ways. One: It's the nib of a fountain pen, drawing a line. Two: It's a quill balancing on it nib. 

 

In the animation I used jagged edges in my transition, this was because i wanted it to feel like paper and yet have a high contrast to the smooth logo. I also use a simple wave which was inspired by the rubber wave stamps used on letters.
