Mini Bites
Food delivery service for children

‘Mini Bites’ is a concept for a service, developed for a ‘Business Management’ project, which included an in-depth business plan, covering all the requirements to start and continue the service. Mini Bites is defined as a healthy, nutritious and affordable food delivery service for children attending school (a sort of ‘Lite n’ Easy’ for children). It removes the unnecessary time and money associated with lunches, providing parents with a cost effective, smooth and easy to use service. The packaging takes on a clean ‘lunch-bag’ feel, with a playful edge.
The website maintains the clean and playful feel – attracting both parents (customers) and children (end-users).

Business- Idea
We are offering a healthy, nutritious and affordable delivery food service for parents’ children attending school, as parents’ solution to a time consuming day-to-day activity. To take a bit of that everyday stress of parents hands. Trustworthy, fresh, easy and healthy. Source Ingredients from local produce within Coles and buy back into society. Supporting the local economy with a small ecological footprint. Addressing the issue that one in four Australian children are overweight. Providing cost-effective, healthy and nutritious diets for children. We want to remove excess finance and time associated with kids’s lunches. Ten percent of the profits will go to the school. Our food can be trusted as healthy and nutritious as it is going through the supervision of an in-house dietician who will work closely with all staff.
Target Market
The target market is Primary Schools within a designated range, area or suburb. The Customers are Parents with children in the schools, and the end-users are children. We will start to focus on the schools in one suburb. We will enter the market through schools – through various advertising platforms both provided by the school and the local newspapers. We later plan to enter the market through a brand launch with a Coles campaign, i.e. with an event. This will work as it is directly entering and interacting with both the target market, customers and end-users.
Goal & Visions
Our long-term ongoing goal is to educate the public and make society more aware of the importance of nutrition and the benefits a healthy diet can give you. We aim to battle the statistic the one in four Australian children are overweight and provide a healthy, nutritious service for families. We also aim to provide affordable, fresh, healthy, nutritious and enjoyable lunches to the children of Australia. Our short term goal is to receive enough cash-flow to continue the company and see it flourish – therefor having the ability to achieve the long term goals.

Filling the Gap
More parents are going back to full time work so it is hard for the canteens to function and remain open – this is where Mini Bites can step in and resolve that issue by providing healthy, nutritious meal options to children. As we are entering directly through the school we can provide them with ten percent of the profits of which they can spend according to their needs and budget. Opportunities to work with Coles as a partner, using their produce in return for promotion with associations of health, nutrition and the movement to battle statistic obesity in the children of Australia.
