1871 Dairy
Bringing Dairy Back to Chicago
1871 Dairy is bringing dairy back to Chicago after a storied history. As the legend goes, back in 1871 Patrick and Catherine O’Leary’s dairy cow kicked over a lantern in their barn, thus starting the Great Chicago Fire that decimated most of the city. Consider 1871 Dairy as a road to reconciliation between Chicago and dairy cows.

We have been involved with 1871 Dairy from concept to execution on a number of different projects, all of which showcase the quality and heritage of this high-end dairy company. Look for 1871 Dairy at select Whole Foods grocery stores, Publican Meat Market in downtown Chicago, and more locations in the coming months.
Rule29 created the logo and packaging concepts for the variety of products offered, and business cards were printed with opaque white ink on a black, textured stock.
1871 Dairy’s website was designed for ease of readability and navigation, allowing the viewer to easily and beautifully interact with all of the ways quality dairy products mean a stronger body and healthier planet.
The brochure – a key piece for this startup – helped to tell the story of 1871 Dairy using full-bleed photography and playful line art details.
