Mini-Tractor Workspace Design.
User friendly & aesthetics workspace, that invokes pride of ownership and delightful experience to the users.
Thesis project for my M.Des course, focus on understanding the needs and aspirations of the stakeholders to design a user friendly and aesthetic workspace envelope / Operator area for a subcompact utility tractor in India.
The project took its base from my Internship project at Escorts Agri Machinery (EAM), a leading agricultural equipment brand that offers a wide range of tractors to suit the need of every farmers and contractors.
An extensive research was carried out with all stake holders from farm owners, tractor drivers to test drivers from the industry. The various mini tractors available in the Indian market were also studied to understand the machine and its offerings.

The observations and insights from the deep dive were collated and analysed. User personas and Journey mapping were made to draw a clear picture of the user and his habits.
Ideation was done to find solution to all the challenges identified from the research. Moodboard was setup to guide the styling part of the exercise so that the design reflects the key attributes the machine has to reflect.
The final design address the needs identified by offering a comfortable and safe seating facility for the co- passenger and operator, brake pedals designed for easy and safe use, means for storage of various objects identified and a stylish and inviting workspace area.
The controls levers, pedals and the solutions suggested in this design needs to evaluated for ergonomic feasibility with the Indian population in the future, to find the optimum location and position of each elements to provide maximum comfort to the users
