This is a laptop supporting device that attaches to an existing wheelchair. The device primarily provides accessibility to patients who are in a wheelchair and can only utilize one arm.

Patients that have suffered from strokes or other severe medical conditions have very limited mobility. This hinders many aspects of their life and prevents them from doing any physical labor. However, many of these patients have the capability of working through a mobile device or a laptop, but they do not have the equipment that would permit them to do this.

Currently, there are very few products in the market for a patient that is only able to use one arm. There are many products that allow a patient in a wheelchair to use their laptop, but these mechanisms are too complicated to use for a patient with such low mobility. Furthermore, many devices that are currently in the market are not very flexible and hinder the mobility of the patient, forcing him/her to stay in one place while using the laptop.

The goal of the present development is to provide comfortable use of a laptop to wheelchair users through a simple and easy to use system. This device will increase the level of productivity of the user and will allow the patient to do more things without the need of professional assistance. Furthermore, the device will have much flexibility in its design so that the patient may still use it if he/she changes wheelchairs.
An overall assembly of the device with all of its components and materials.
An exploded view of the assembly with all of its components.
An adjustable anchor that attaches to the wheel chair. It consists of two pieces that are screwed in together and can be adjusted to the diameter of the wheelchair handle. This anchor is permanent so that setting up the table will be easier for the user.

The anchor is positioned in a place where it will not disturb the movement of the patient, so that he/she may move around in the wheelchair with the anchor in place without any inconvenience.
The table is made of lightweight wood so that it is easy to assemble onto the anchor.

There are Velcro strips attached to the table as well as groove to ensure that once the table is in place, the patient is able to move around without worrying about the laptop falling to the ground.

All the elements fit smoothly together and require very little assembly. This was done to accommodate the needs of a patient in a wheelchair with only one healthy arm.
The knob that connects the table to the anchor is large enough so that a patient with only one healthy arm may use it easily.
Thank You!
