Making stories and learning art, 6000 feet above sea level.

We lived in a local homestay on a steep hill, and walked 1.5 kms to the school everyday.
This was a part of LETS (Learn English through Stories) project at IDC, IIT Bombay.

Coniferous trees, blue skies, mountains, wild flowers, fruits, animals and the daily life of the locals were all reflected in stories that the children wrote and images they drew. The children are cheeky and bright, but unaware of the pleasures of art, music, reading and traveling. These images show snippets of stories they drew, art they created, games they played and a wall that we painted together.

Rajinder's granny who I used to meet everyday on my way to school.
She has the most gentle looking eyes and she carries this huge load of grass on her back making her way home uphill, everyday.
Finally, after a fortnights work.
