In the Fall of 2010 I took a Graphic Novel course. The first project was to create a graphic novel for a historical event. Instructions were to do it all by hand, with 16 panels, 4 to a page. In order to focus more on visual storytelling and sequencing, we could only use words on the first panel to set the scene. I chose the sinking of the Titanic as my historical event. Given most of my event occurred at night I used white ink on black paper.
