The Early Works—1997 through 2002

In the Beginning...
My first works were very traditional Pacific Northwest Coast style. The images of Orcas, Ravens, Bears, and Hawks were common subjects. With typical form lines, ovids, full and split "U" forms on blank backgrounds, my paintings closely resembled Plank House designs created by indigenous peoples of the NorthwesternCoast.

The first deviation came with "AeroBison", where a suggestion of a background first appeared. Soon after that painting, backgrounds became more abstract, sometimes giving a hint of  an object and other times an element of design.

The images in this project folder will give you a better display of the progression.
