WINExperience foi o projecto realizado no âmbito da tese de Mestrado em Arquitectura de Interiores. O seu desenvolvimento foi fundamentado por uma investigação de natureza sócio-antropológica com o tema "A Influência do Espaço nos Comportamentos Sociais".
O projecto desenvolvido enquadra-se num plano mais vasto de requalificação urbana de Vila Viçosa, no Alentejo. Numa primeira fase, foi estabelecido um plano estratégico de intervenção que visa a revitalização da vila apostando na investigação, educação e incentivos ao comércio e indústrias locais (Mármore, Azeite, Vinho e Cereais). Propõe-se a reabilitação de edifícios e áreas de interesse público, devolutos ou em mau estado de conservação, para acolhimento de novos centros de investigação e divulgação destes produtos. Propõe-se, ainda, o reaproveitamento das pedreiras desactivadas para novos usos, como anfiteatros naturais, espaços verdes e de lazer ou a relocalização do museu do mármore.

WINExperience was the project carried out within the scope of the Master's thesis in Interior Architecture.
Its development was based on a socio-anthropological investigation with the theme "The Influence of Space on Social Behaviors".
The project developed is part of a macro plan for the urban requalification of Vila Viçosa, in the Alentejo. In a first phase, a strategic intervention plan was established, aimed at revitalizing the village by investing in research, education and incentives for local commerce and industries (Marble, Olive Oil, Wine and Cereals). We proposed the rehabilitation of buildings and areas of public interest, vacant or in poor state of conservation, to create new research and dissemination centers. We also propose the re-purpose of the deactivated and abandoned quarries for new uses, such as natural amphitheaters, green and leisure spaces and the relocation of the marble museum.
WINExperience assenta na criação de um espaço dedicado à divulgação do vinho alentejano e na reconversão da linha de comboio desactivada numa Ecopista entre Vila Viçosa e Estremoz.
A intervenção começa com a requalificação da antiga Estação Ferroviária e integração de um novo volume ao longo do terreno dos caminhos-de-ferro. Isto permite a integração da Enoteca na nova Ecopista, facilitando a sua ligação à Rota dos Vinhos do Alentejo, bem como aos restantes Centros de Investigação, Educação e Cultura desenvolvidos na Vila.

WinExperience is based on the development of a space dedicated to the promotion and research of Alentejo's wines, and the conversion of the deactivated train line into an Ecopist between Vila Viçosa and Estremoz.
The intervention begins with the requalification of the old railway station and integration of a new volume along the grounds of the railways. This allows the integration of the Enoteca to the new ecopist, facilitating its connection to the Alentejo's Wines' Route, as well as the other research, education and culture centers developed in the village.
Esta Enoteca pretende constituir-se como um espaço de divulgação do vinho alentejano e um centro privilegiado de informação e investigação. Assim, e com o intuito de atrair uma maior variedade de visitantes, conjuga quatro funções principais que se distribuem ao longo de três volumes independentes, interligados por percursos contínuos de rampas, que conduzem os visitantes pelos diversos núcleos, como se de uma exposição se tratasse.
O edifício da Estação Ferroviária, bem como o respectivo Armazém de mercadorias, são requalificados e readaptados a novos usos, albergando a componente de DEGUSTAÇÃO. O novo volume, mais amplo, é constitui por três áreas distintas que correspondem às componentes de EXPOSIÇÃO, DIVULGAÇÃO e INVESTIGAÇÃO.

This Enoteca intends to be a space for Alentejo's wine dissemination and a privileged center of information and research. Thus, and in order to attract a greater variety of visitors, it is composed by four main functions that are distributed along three independent volumes, interconnected by continuous ramp paths that invite the visitors to explore the various nucleus.
The existing buildings of the train station and the warehouse are requalified and readapted to new uses, hosting the DEGUSTATION component. The new wider volume, is constituted by three distinct areas that correspond to the components of EXHIBITION, PROMOTION and RESEARCH..

NÚCLEO EXPOSIÇÃO - é constituído por um centro expositivo que pretende aproximar o visitante ao universo do vinho, expondo a sua história, diferentes técnicas e processos de produção e a sua evolução ao longo dos tempos. Disponibiliza um leque de experiências lúdico-didáticas, entre elas, a “Barrica de Aromas” onde se podem cheirar diferentes castas, o corredor "Da Vinha ao Vinho" que acompanha o processo com cantares da vindima e a "Prova de vinho" na Adega, onde o visitante entra em contacto com um ambiente típico de estágio e pode degustar diferentes vinhos.
EXHIBITION - consists of a small exhibition center that intends to bring the visitor closer to the universe of wine by explaining its history, different techniques, production processes and its evolution throughout the time. It provides a range of playful-didactic experiences, such as the "Barrica de Aromas" where the visitor can experience the smell of different grapes, the corridor "From Vineyard to Wine" that follows the process of wine making and a "Wine Tasting" in the cellar, where the visitor can experience the typical wine aging environment and taste different wines.

NÚCLEO DIVULGAÇÃO - distribui-se pelo volume central do novo edifício, estabelecendo a ligação entre o Núcleo Exposição e o Núcleo Investigação. Decompõe-se em diferentes funções com o intuito de dinamizar o conhecimento do vinho: uma Adega, onde estagiam diversos exemplos da região; uma área multifacetada, em constante ligação visual com a adega, para a realização de cursos de escanção, workshops, lançamentos de novos vinhos e outras acções de divulgação; e um pequeno Auditório para a realização de palestras, conferências ou mesmo pequenas performances artísticas.
PROMOTION - it's distributed along the central volume of the new building, establishing the connection between the exhibition and investigation centers. It's composed by different functions, all with the intention of streaming the knowledge of wine: a wine cellar, with several examples of the region; a multifunctional area - with a visual connection to the wine cellar - for sommelier workshops, launches of new wines and other marketing actions; and a small auditorium for lectures, conferences or even small artistic performances.

NÚCLEO INVESTIGAÇÃO - é definido por dois espaços distintos: uma Garrafeira, localizada no volume central e um Centro de Documentação num volume suspenso, a Norte do edifício. A Garrafeira, construída em desperdícios de blocos de mármore branco, serrado e aparelhado, com uma cobertura abobadada, comporta diversos exemplares de vinhos produzidos nesta região formando um rico espólio vinícola. O centro de documentação consiste numa base de dados digital com diversas informações relacionadas com o universo do vinho que poderão favorecer a recolha de informação para especialistas da área ou o público geral.
RESEARCH - it's defined by two distinct spaces: a Bottle-cellar, located in the central volume and a Documentation Center, located in a suspended volume to the north of the building. The Bottle-cellar is built out of waste from white marble blocks, with a vaulted cover and it hosts several specimens of wines produced in the region. The Documentation Center consists of a digital database with a lot of information related to the wine universe that can help the research of information by experts or the general public.

NÚCLEO DEGUSTAÇÃO - resultando da requalificação dos edifícios pré-existentes, é composto por uma Loja (no armazém de mercadorias) e um Winebar (no edifício de passageiros). Na loja, além do vinho, poderão também ser adquiridos diversos produtos regionais, como licores, azeite, queijos e enchidos. No Winebar poderão ser degustados diversos petiscos típicos de Vila Viçosa, impulsionando a gastronomia calipolense. Com esta componente pretende-se reforçar a dinamização do vinho e aproximar o programa da Enoteca à população residente, integrando-os nas vivências destes espaços e incentivando-as ao consumo dos seus produtos.
DEGUSTATION - resulting from the requalification of pre-existing buildings, it consists of a winestore (in the old warehouse) and a winebar (in the passengers building). In the Winestore, besides wine, various regional products can be purchased, such as liquors, olive oil, cheeses and sausages. In the Winebar, several typical delicacies from Vila Viçosa can be tasted, boosting Calipolense gastronomy. With this component it is intended to reinforce the dynamization of wine and connect the resident population with the Enoteca's program, integrating them into the experiences of these spaces and encouraging them for the consumption of their products.
DEGUSTAÇÃO - LOJA . Mantém-se a estrutura pré-existente do armazém criando um núcleo central, independente da mesma, para exposição dos produtos.
DEGUSTATION - winestore . The pre-existing structure of the warehouse is maintained and a central core is created for product exposure.
DEGUSTAÇÃO - Winebar . Pretende-se a criação de diferentes espaços de permanência: o piso térreo, mais dinâmico; o intermédio, de passagem; o superior, mais recatado e acolhedor. A intervenção mantém a estrutura principal da estação, desenvolvendo um volume central que serve duas intenções: exposição dos vinhos disponíveis para consumo e ligação entre as diferentes áreas.
DEGUSTATION - Winebar. It is intended to create different spaces of permanence: the ground floor, more dynamic; the intermediate, of passage; The upper level, more modest and cozy. The intervention maintains the main structure of the station, developing a central volume that serves two intentions: exposing the wines available for consumption and vertical connection between the different areas.
