1- Title: Growing Tomato
Reasoning: Growth is a precious that time gives us.
Inspiration: My housemate and I put the tomato seeds into the dirt nearly eight months ago and hoped we can get our own tomato. Recently, we have surprisely found that there are two fresh growing tomatoes on the plant, this is a big change of what time brings to us.
Technique: Traditional hand drawing. Using coloured pencils to draw the plant.
Process: Firstly, I go downstairs to take the photo of the plant, and then, according to this picture, I draw the frame of this plant by 2B black pencil. Finally, using different green coloured pencils to draw the leaves and tomatoes to be closed to the real one.
Reflection: The fresh growing tomatoes can be clearly seen in this picture, but in order to make the plant more real, I need to use different green pencils to show the gradation.
2- Title: Has time changed your life?
Reasoning: What does time bring to your life? Maybe few years later, someone will be successful in his or her area, someone will be lost and desperated in the life, or maybe they will be still trying to get the goal.
Inspiration: Recently, I have met a person who was my classmate 7 years ago, and when I meet her, it is really clear that everything has been changed on her. She becomes very beautiful and really different from who she was. So, that makes me think that everything can be magically changed by time.
Technique: Shoot the picture by digital Canon Camera - Canon EOS 500D, and use photoshop to crop and create the new picture.
Process:  Firstly, I took the picture of the old clock based on Rule of Thirds and Z pattern, and then I put the photo into Photoshop to make the surface of the clock black and white, which can show that time is ruthless but continued and will be forever. Furthermore, I added some shapes that are similar to the shapes of the number on the clock onto the picture by brush to create a vortex to push people to think what time brings to them. Finally, literally telling the story to show the concept of this picture.
Reflection: I really like the vortex that I made, it may make people dig into their minds. However, I think that the colour still needs to be improved.
3- Title: Aging
Reasoning: Apple is a very typical representative to explain what aging is.
Inspiration: There is an advertising of skin care products that utilises apple as a symbol to show what age can affect the skin. Therefore, I use a piece of a fresh apple to contrast the oxidation one to tell the story.
Technique: Tradtional drawing; Pencil sketch; Photoshop to crop and create the picture.
Process: Firstly, I sketch two pieces of apple by coloured pencils on paper. Secondly, taking a picture of the apples and put them into Photoshop to cut them out. Finally, adjusting the colour balance to highlight the difference between the fresh one and the brown one.
Reflection: The difference of the two pieces of apple can be easily seen on this picture. The structure of this image can be improved to be more attractive by varied forms or lines, but I am still trying to find the best one to make the image better.
4- Title: Tik Tok
Reasoning: Time is always flying in a flash, and people cannot help but cherish the time.
Inspiration: One day, I got up late and had to make everything in a rush. I checked the watch every five minutes to make sure that everything was in control, still, I found that time goes too fast to catch it.
Technique: Traditional hand drawing; Clip and paste; Photoshop
Process: Firstly, I draw "TIME" on the paper, and then clipping them to paste them onto a scrapbook. Secondly, taking a picture of the "TIME" and putting it into Photoshop to make the effect of burning and fire, which shows time is going very fast and disappearing in a flash. Furthermore, to be suitable for the style of the letters, yellow has been decided as the background colour. Finally, using "TIME" to make a basic shape of clock, and putting the hand-drawing pointer onto the image by Photoshop to illustrate the concept of this image.
Reflection: At the beginning of making this picture, I had no idea about how to construct this image because many ideas came up and it was difficult to decide which one is the most suitable one to make people easily get the point, but after trying multiple times, I think that using the characters to tell the story that is a good way to achieve an ideal construction. However, I still need to spend more time on studying how to structure a good image.
5- Title: Old bag
Reasoning: A patch is a typical symbol of age. For example, if bags and clothes are broken, people may use a patch to cover the broken part.
Inspiration: My old bag.
Technique: Triditional hand drawing; Photoshop
Process: Firstly, I draw a bag according to my old bag by hands; Secondly, putting it into photoshop to change the colour and make it look older; Finally, changing the background to yellow.
Reflection: It was a bit of hard to reflect the age of the bag, but I used some dark colour to cover on the original colour which is blue to make it looks darker and older. However, the hand drawing skills still need to be improved.
6- Title: Melting
Reasoning: Ices change shapes with time, which is melt.
Inspiration: I took the ices out of the fridge and forgot to put them back, and 30 minutes later, when I found it, the ices have already turned to cold water.
Technique: Triditional hand drawing; Photoshop.
Process: Firstly, drawing an ice and a melting ice by hand; Secondly, taking a picture of them and putting them into photoshop to make a squence and change the main hue to blue. Finally, adding the text to literally tell the story.
Reflection: The lines are need to more delicate, but the story can be clearly told in this image.
7- Title: Lock and Time
Reasoning: How long the house is there, how long the lock will be there. Lock is very important to our home that keeps us safe and makes the house more comfortable. Therefore, lock definitely can be a symbol of the home and time.
Inspiration: The house that I live has a very long history. The lock of the back door is already rusty that makes me think about the time with this lock.
Technique: Photography: Shoot the picture by Canon digital Camera - Canon EOS 500D, and then crop it and change the hue by photoshop.
Process: Closing the back door and focusing on the lock by the camera, and then shooting the photo based on Rule of Thirds. After that, putting the photo into the photoshop to crop it and change the main hue to yellow to point out the long history of the lock.
Reflection: It was a bit of difficult to show the years of this lock approriately, so the hue has been continuously adjusted to be closed to yellow by photoshop, which is able to emphasise the long history of this lock.
8- Title: New turn
Reasoning: Spring always is a symbol of time. It shows that everything will go to a new turn of their lives.
Inspiration: I was walking around my house one day in last late spring. After growing, the trees utilise their own leaves and flowers to show the beauty of the spring to tell everyone that the summer will be coming soon.
Technique: Photography: Taking the picture by iphone.
Process: Walking down to the pathway to take the picture. Using Rule of Thirds to guide the picture to show that the pathway covered by the beautiful red flowers.
Reflection: This picture is one of my favourite images. It has green and red as the main hue to illustrate the vivid emotion of the season. It was a little bit of difficult to choose the better angle to take the picture; for example, I had to crouch on the ground to make sure the entire pathway was involved.
9- Title: Back to the beginning
Reasoning: This sculpture is constructed by many elements, which include bicycle, gear and some symbols of the industrial revolution.
Inspiration: I was working in front of this sculpture, and it reminded me about the Industrial revolution, which was an epic change of UK. History always is a big impact of our life.
Technique: Photography: The picture was taken by iphone, and use photoshop to crop it and change the colour balance.
Process: After taking the picture in Geebung, I put the photo into Photoshop to enhance its light, and then, change the main hue to yellow to show the sense of history.
Reflection: It was very cloudy that day, so the light is not very ideal in this image. Therefore, the light of this picture needs to be adjusted. Apart from that, the background is a little bit of distracting.
10- Title: Blooming and Withered
Reasoning
: Flower is also a typical symbol to represent time. From being blooming to wither away, they are singing a beautiful song of the life.
Inspiration: During the tutorial activity, I was walking around the Z block and saw the flowers. Some of them are still gorgeous, but others start to wither away.
Technique: Photography: Canon digital camera - Canon EOS 500D; Photoshop
Process: After taking the picture of the flowers, I put it into Photoshop to crop it, and then, I use photoshop to make the background black and white to emphasise on showing the intense colour of the flowers and fallen petals.
Reflection: To show the intense colour of the flowers and the fallen petals better, I adjust the contrast few times. I am quite happy with this finalised image, the intense contrast may be able to leave a strong impression to the audience. However, I need to be more sensible of colour. Apart from that, putting the focus on the fallen petal may be an another good choice to make the photo better.

11- Title: Sunrise and Sunset
Reasoning: We start a day with the sunrise, and we go back to home with the sunset.
Inspiration: I get the inspiration after taking the pictures. Using different modes to bring different effects that give the inspiration to me.
Technique: Photography: Canon digital Camera - Canon EOS 500D; Photoshop
Process: Firstly, I take the camera to go to the top floor to shoot the photo by manual mode, and adjust ISO to 3200, which makes the photo bright enough to achieve the effect of the sunrise. Secondly, taking another photo by AV to make it more closed to the reality that is the sunset. Finally, putting them into photoshop to crop and clip to get the final result.
Reflection: For me, I think that it is a progress of operating the digital camera to get some good photos. However, I need to practice more to get famliar with using manual mode.
D12- Title: Nothing will be forever except for the sky and the sea.
