This was an ISTD brief related to The origin of Species, which was talking about the Bible, Quran, The communist manifesto, most of the context of text often dissapears under the modern day available theories and texts. As a designer the brief was to re-consider a key of historical text from a typographers perspective, how do you regain something of the power of the original ideas in todays visually and ideologically saturated environment?
My perspective on the brief was to use the word paradise to depict a sense of texture and sustain the use of craft as Type was written in the Quran. Keeping these elements in mind I researched on Type artists that work with Arabic and how they maintain a modern style to old Typography.
