My thesis, Isolated Island contains a picture book I have created for people who feel isolated in the city and want to escape from the realities of everyday life. It starts with a boy’s escape from his city, where his classmates bullied him. He finds a place by accident called Isolated Island. The islanders all have very painful and dark memories caused by their atypical but unique qualities. Through learning the stories of the people, the boy gradually has a profound understanding of himself and his unique qualities and learns to embrace them.
