Baseball In Cincinnati

This year was a big one for baseball in Cincinnati, Ohio with the city hosting the All-Star Game in July. Here's a look back at a trio of pages that helped to amp up the excitement.
We took over the front page of The Cincinnati Enquirer in April to cheer on the Reds for their first game of the season. It's like an unofficial holiday in the city, so we wanted our front page to capture that feeling.
This was the cover readers awakened to on the morning of the All-Star Game. The homerun derby was held the night before and the hometown favorite, Todd Frazier, had one the event and graced this special wrap-around cover. Fun fact: This cover featuring Frazier had been planned a week earlier, it was just a master stroke of luck that the "Toddfather" happened to dazzle and stun the crowd at Great American Ballpark the night before.
This was the cover that followed the All-Star Game in Cincinnati, Ohio. I worked with our designer Kayla Golliher to create a design that was simple, impactful and geared to honoring the city's moment in the spotlight. The headline on the page did a great job of speaking to the citizens of Cincinnati, who helped in welcoming this major event to their community.
