Im Projekt visualisiere ich ein Zitat aus den „Zehn Geboten zur Typografie“ des Grafikers Kurt Weidemann.
Im Projekt visualisiere ich ein Zitat aus den „Zehn Geboten zur Typografie“ des Grafikers Kurt Weidemann.
„Typografie hat ihre Kenner, aber sie hat kein Publikum“.
Die Installation wurde auf den Zuschauerrängen des Wimaria Stadions, in Weimar, platziert.
Aufgrund der Bauart kann sie nur gelesen werden wenn der Betrachter direkt davor steht.
Die Zuschauer müssen also die Publikumsplätze verlassen und sich auf den Sportplatz begeben
um den Schriftzug zu erkennen. Durch die dreidimensionale Umsetzung, die Präsentation im
öffentlichem Raum und den Aufruf zur Eigeninitiative der Betrachter mache ich auf den Stellenwert
von Typografie im alltäglichen Leben aufmerksam.

In this project I´m visualizing a quote of Kurt Weidemanns „Zehn Gebote zur Typografie“.
In this project I´m visualizing a quote of Kurt Weidemanns „Zehn Gebote zur Typografie“.
Roughly translated: „The art of type has it´s connoisseurs, but it has no audience.“
It´s an installation which is placed on the audience seats in the Wimaria stadium, Weimar.
Because of it´s construction, the font is only legible if you are standing exactly in front of it.
The spectators have to leave their seats and set foot on the grass of the soccer field if they want to read it.
With this project I want to draw attention to typography in public spaces and our own everyday live.
