Though the illustration seeks to depict the End of the a ruler. The ushering of a new era, achievable through the death of a the ruler. The heavy contrast of pen strokes and crosshatchings along the the ink splatters create the sense of deathly embrace, while the white spaces adds a feeling of purity, in being free.
